CHEP's vision is of a community where good nutritious safe food is always available for everyone no matter what their circumstances; where there is care for the environment, access to local food production, and knowledge about making healthy food choices.

Children’s Programs

  • Children’s Nutrition
  • Breakfast, lunch, snack and supper programs are operated in partnerships between parent groups, the schools, government and CHEP with a goal of providing one third of a child's daily nutrition needs at each meal.
  • Infant Nutrition
  • CHEP is collaborating to provide better support for infant nutrition in Saskatoon and to advocate for public policy that ensures that all infants have access to good food.
  • Kids Kitchens
  • A hands-on nutrition program whereby children learn basic cooking and nutrition skills in a fun atmosphere.
  • Nutrition Positive
  • A partnership program to bring good nutrition into the whole school community, encouraging good health through nutritious food choices.
  • Fresh Food Buffets
  • A Fresh Food Buffet (or Salad Bar) is an array of delicious fresh vegetables, fruits, grain products and protein foods brought to your school to encourage healthy eating.
  • The Big Crunch
  • The Big Crunch invites students and teachers to learn about healthy eating and our local food system in Saskatchewan. We highlight the journey of the carrot from the seed to the garden to our plate.
