Fresh Food Buffet

Fresh Food Buffets are a healthy and tasty alternative to typical hot school lunches, such as pizza, chicken fingers, or hot dogs. These buffets are an opportunity to serve a delicious array of vegetables, fruit, grain products, lentils, beans, and cheese to encourage children to eat fresh and nutritious food. Students enjoy choosing from a rainbow of foods to fill their plates, while teachers can use the buffet as an opportunity to discuss nutrition and making healthy choices.

GET STARTED

If your school would like to add a Fresh Food Buffet to your calendar, we can help you plan what foods to choose, how much food you will need to order, how many volunteers you will need to prepare the buffet, as well as answer any other questions you may have.

You can also download the Fresh Food Buffet: How to Manual for step by step information on how to put on a buffet at your school.

CHEP Good Food maintains Fresh Food Buffet kits, available at school division resource centres. Once you have chosen a date for your buffet, contact your school division resource centre to book a kit. The kits contain all the equipment your school needs to put on a buffet for up to 250 students (cutting boards, salad spinners, tongs, etc.).
