seedy saturday 2022

Saskatoon’s Seedy Saturday 2022 will be online again this year. There are two opportunities to learn alongside other gardeners and seed-saving enthusiasts to mark this annual event. You can follow along on The askîy Project Instagram as we highlight local businesses, heirloom seed companies, and more resources for gardening and seed saving skills.

Thursday march 3rd | 7-9 pm

U of S Free Class – Low Water, Low Maintenance Gardening: Principles, Plants and Practices

2-hour online class. As our climate changes, conserving water is more important than ever before. And if less maintenance is involved, so much the better. This presentation begins with the principals of xeriscape: design ideas that conserve water, soil improvement, efficient irrigation, reducing conventional lawn areas, mulching and the use of drought tolerant plants. There are hundreds of attractive, hardy and drought tolerant trees, shrubs, vines, annuals, perennials and bulbs available to prairie gardens.

A special thank you to the City of Saskatoon and the Healthy Yards team for bringing this class to you free of charge. The class is free, but you must register to save your spot.
