CHEP Good Food Inc. through its mission and goals has operated the askîy urban agriculture internship for youth since 2015. This internship works to the following project goals:
- Grow food and food skills
- Enhance cultural connections
- Promote environmental sustainability
- Create social enterprise
- Engage youth
The askîy internship is both a summer job and a learning experience. There will be opportunities to take part in excursions, workshops, and events in addition to work in the askîy growing sites. Our ideal intern is enthusiastic about gardening and growing food, enjoys working in a team environment, and is culturally competent and comfortable with diversity. There are three intern positions, each with a different focus: Lead Urban Ag Intern, Education and Volunteer Assistant Intern, Marketing and Communications Intern.
