Children's Nutrition Programs

CHEP supports community groups to operate food programs for children at their neighbourhood schools and community centres. Breakfast, lunch, snack and supper programs are operated in partnerships between parent groups, the schools, government and CHEP. Quality foods are used to prepare meals, with a goal of providing one third of a child's daily nutrition needs at each meal. Meals are served at 25 school sites and at more than 10 other sites. Last year more than 325,000 nutritious meals were served. Youth and children are healthier, happier and better able to learn each school day as a result of the children's nutrition programs.
