Community Gardeners

This program combines the growing of good food with family fun and outings. Families get together to plan and support each other in planting, weeding and harvesting. Workshops about gardening, composting, canning, jam making and nutrition are part of the program. Trips to market gardens, farms and rural sites add to the learning and interest. The program includes family backyard plots and shared community gardens. Youth groups are involved in native plant and regular gardening. Accessing public land for food growing and supporting gardens on school grounds are part of future.
