Babies Welcome!

Please bring your own baby carrier, blanket and other baby accessories.

The ABC’s of Making Baby Food is offered to you by CHEP, Good Food Inc, a Saskatoon agency that encourages good food for all, and Public Health Services, a division of Saskatoon Health Region.  We have collaborated together to encourage you in providing the best you can to your babies.

The workshop purpose is to provide you with guidelines, advice, and most recent information, tips and ideas to encourage a healthy food relationship between you and your child right from the start.

Homemade baby food need not be difficult or time consuming.  Benefits of making baby food include improved taste, smell, cost, nutrition, appropriate texture and ability to ensure cultural connections.  Research has shown that making baby food from scratch may strengthen the feeding and parent/child relationship.

What parents say about the workshop …
“They should make it mandatory for every mom to do the baby food taste test. Some companies would go broke. It’s an eye opener.”
“Us new moms are bombarded with so much advice about what to feed our babies and when. It’s good to hear the facts first hand and make decisions that we feel are best for our baby. A lot of mothers I meet don’t even consider making their own baby food.”
Thanks for giving me confidence in starting solids!”

We are willing to offer the workshop to interested community groups, neighborhoods and organizations.
We need commitment from a minimum of 8 parents.
